Well we are now in Blenheim, heading back to the other island tomorrow. It is fantastic weather and we managed to finally finish another list.

So lets catch you up. We left sandfly city (Hanmer Springs) and headed further up the coast to Kaikoura, Scott again drove us there, with umpteen one way bridges I am sure you can imagine he had a ball. So we got there, got our tent set up in the sweltering heat, and noticed that it is breaking…eek…our trusty provider of warmth and shelter is failing us. We decided, with very little chance of rain we would risk it and worry about it tomorrow. Then we got our togs on and headed to the beach.

We found somewhat of a beach, it was very rocky though, we stood letting the surf freeze our toes for a good ten minutes before we both chickened out and went to see what the main street had to offer.

NOT MUCH! If it wasn’t selling overpriced tourist crap, all somewhat related to whales, or food, it was some sort of surf brand shop. There was a trash to fashion place that we ventured into, but we had to leave before we both started crying, it was the poorer younger cousin of the WOW in Nelson, and after that, nothing comes close.

After dinner we had a swim in the campsite’s pool, it was very nice except for the splashing children, but both Scott and myself managed to suppress the urge to drown them( they were doing a pretty good job of that without our intervention) and enjoyed the water. Then a shower and bed, we slept with the inner fly open so Scott could stick his feet out the end.

Woken up to a chorus of gulls, we went about our morning activities, packed up the tent (still standing, but one of the poles quite broken) and headed on our merry little way to Blenheim. I thoroughly recommend the ‘top ten’ facilities if you are needing a campsite.

When we got here we wondered around for a while, seeing the sights the town had to offer, we were glad to see they had a Farmers so we could finish that list and get some more money.
Checked into our campsite, I really like this one, your space has been marked out in neat little squares, can’t help but think about Nicole. This is ours.

PHOTO TO COME

So then we went back into town to get some reading material, and attempt another list, we finished that one too!! Hard to believe we spent three days on the previous one, then this one is over in 15 minutes. I got a book, it is by Patricia Cornwell, I was disappointed that they were out of the fourth twilight book.

Well I am going to read for a bit then get some dinner, See you
