Good to know the tent is waterproof, but ask me again in the morning!!
We are still in Dunedin, we went to Lanarch Castle, The museum, and the steepest street in the world today. In true southland style it started bucketing down about 3pm, and hasn’t stopped since. After doing so much ‘touristy’ stuff, we are down to our last $ until we finish our list, so we are getting a bit creative with our pictures.
Let me back up a bit…
We got on the road relatively early today and continued on our tourist jaunt around Dunedin. We paid a rather healthy sum of money, and beat the rest of the tourists to the castle door. Unfortunately we were unable to take pictures inside. We found Alice in the garden, and some very cute ducklings.
After that we went down into the city, and came across the Cadbury Chocolate Factory… YAY
It is closed 4 days in the year, today was one of them… BOO
We drove on a bit father and found the museum, so we went in. They had some sort of butterfly thing on, we paid our money and went in. WELL…VERY COOL.
First of all there was the science experiments,
then the butterflies…WOW! There was a huge rainforest room in the middle of the museum, with butterflies everywhere, they even land on you!
Then we went to find somewhere to stay, we found a camp ground that we thought would be good, now we have our new air mattress to make our sleep blissful and uninterrupted. We found a nice (cheap) place and set up. We had a wonder around and followed the path that said ‘beach’ it didn’t say ‘beach: beware the very steep hill and golf course’ we saw the sea, but still have the sandblasting that we paid for it.
We went into town, and explored a little bit, not too much we didn’t want to venture too far from the car in case we got lost.
Then we found the worlds steepest street… then it started raining, we decided the best thin would be to go back to the tent, and here I am in the tent with it hosing down outside. See ya.
